The biopic titled ‘Bird’ is mostly focused on Sepehri’s childhood with a screenplay based a memory narrated by Sepehri’s family.
According to Fatemi who is Sepehri’s nephew, “The story of the film is focused on Sepehri’s childhood until when he decides to leave his hometown of Kashan, starting his journeys around the world to pursue his higher education.”
‘Bird’ is an attempt to show how Sepehri acquired his reputation as a poet and artist and as stated by Fatemi, “This period of Sepehri’s life is really exciting and funny and we should not deem the movie as mystic, because it will portray the normal life of the poet.”
‘Bird’ is not the only movie to be made on the poet Sepehri as filmmaker Ali Qavitan also made a biopic named ‘Dream of Sohrab’ earlier in 2018 that traces the mysticism and philosophy of Sepehri’s poetry.
Sepehri, who is known for his pure style of blank verse, departed life in 1980.
His works have been translated into many languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Swedish, Arabic, Turkish and Russian.
